BT Ireland today received the Business Working Responsibly Mark – the only independently audited standard for CSR and Sustainability in Ireland
Over 180 business leaders gathered for the annual Business in the Community Ireland CEO Forum at the Mansion House on Wednesday morning, where the companies certified to the Business Working Responsibly mark in 2018 were announced. Based on ISO 2600, the Mark assesses best-in-class corporate social responsibility and sustainability and looks at impact in areas such as employee engagement, environmental practices and engagement with local communities.
Shay Walsh, managing director, BT Ireland said: “BT Ireland is proud to achieve the Business Working Responsibly Mark in 2018. This accreditation recognises the enormous effort that our people make across the business every day to operate best in class environmental, social and operational practices, and to continually deliver on our mission to use the power of communications to create a better world.”
BT Ireland also announced that it has joined 43 companies in signing the Low Carbon Pledge - the first dedicated pledge generated by Irish business to set industry standards on sustainability and reduce carbon usage.
